Haikus for every part of you that I fell for
Aishani Kundu University of Iowa Romance Haiku
1. your eyes a
black-ice glacier
i would keep falling into
till our depths dissolve
2. your teeth like
icicles cutting
through sea smoke, the hull wearing
it—i’m all you now
3. your voice as
thick as lava spill
on cheeks, the more it burns,
the nearer you are
4. your laughter a
resounding foghorn
still i run aground on your
sandy-lipped shoreline
5. your touch
mapping onto my
body—a spider web i
feel all over me
6. you
a dream figure—how
one can see their image but
it’s too far to touch
